For a journalist, it’s all about the scoops. The stories. Stories are simply amazing things — and that’s because stories have a certain power to them.

Stories free us — they free our minds and, in doing so, the rest of us as well. We can freely travel the world, the cosmos, wherever we like using the power of our imagination. Never in my life have I felt prouder sounding like Levar Burton or Miss Frizzle.

Founder + Co Just Got Its Groove Back

Matt Levesque, Founder of Founder + Co recently took back the reins of the popular experience organization whose mission is to serve all those who think, dream and do, and has quite an ambitious vision which he, as always, intends to fulfill with a great big smile and — most likely — a glittering gold curtain revealing all kinds of surprises.

Good luck Matt: We’re all counting on you to make us smile, laugh, and dare to hope especially nowadays.

Chris Requena Continues To Prove Why BNT Has Heart

The BNT Newsletter is one of my absolute favourite reads. There’s a reason for that. Here’s the reason:

“Hello BNT Members,

We wish everyone well during this difficult time.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh held a press conference with Coronavirus updates and advice for the community today. We’ll share the most important updates here.

Mayor Walsh emphasized that social distancing means no gatherings with others outside your home, no playing of any sports with close contact and no real estate open houses.

Walsh advises that, if you experience virus symptoms, you should isolate yourself from others and call your medical provider, or call the Boston or Mass Public Health Commissions at 311 or 211. Also, for a free online COVID-19 screening, visit BuoyHealth.com.

If you are a Boston senior citizen having trouble accessing food, call 311 for assistance.

Anyone facing food insecurity can contact Project Bread at ProjectBread.org or the Greater Boston Food Bank at GBFB.org.

The city of Boston is hiring homeless counselors, public health advocates and public safety officers. Visit BPHC.org for job listings.

Watch the complete press conference with Mayor Walsh here.

Does your company have a special offer or resource for those affected by or working on the Coronavirus? Email it to Chris@BostonNewTechnology.com, for inclusion in a new website BNT is creating to help save lives through better access to information, and to support local businesses with free resources, services and opportunities.

Chris ended with “Wishing you and yours a safe and super week!”. This is an example of how to pivot — and here’s another from fan favourite Jason Kraus:

You are essential. Government officials have declared certain businesses essential business and we would like to give a shoutout to all of these workers on the front lines, in hospitals, grocery stories, etc. helping everyone through these challenging times. At the same time, it is important to remember that you and your business are also essential. The startups, small businesses and investors around the world working from home are driving innovation now faster than ever. We can all help each other out as a community, and we’d like you to join our Prepare4VC community on Slack where we can all help each other out.

I’m not done. Not by a long shot. Here we go

Allison Sproul has delivered a really sweet database with an even sweeter intention behind it. It has rightfully received a TON of engagement and I want all of you to help out on that.

Sal Daher from Angel Invest Boston who shares the honour of having the same wicked cool first name as my papa (fun fact) recently interviewed Michelle Carazas who many of us know because of Host — yes, they’re the ones who always supply the best service, the best bartenders, and who make even my jokes seem slightly amusing after a glass or two at a Whiskey, Wine and Whiteboards sesh (or Startup Boston party).

Janet Chacon is high-key one of the smartest, savviest, and best in the business when it comes to blockchain and beyond. Her startup, Airblocks, is currently seeking senior-level developers to help out in scaling this super cool company. Will you answer the call, will you help Airblocks soar? Sure you will…because you’re cool like that. Make a stopover at Janet’s profile and connect with her.

Emily Hontoria is proving her reliability in more ways than one. Seeing people stand up and reach out a hand never fails to restore my hope. My hope in our collective ability to get through anything — and my hope in this community continuing to lead where it counts.

Alright! That’s it. Oh…actually…

If you have any stories, any honourable mentions, any “hey so could you maybe talk about….”
